Bridges

A bridge, also known as a fixed partial denture, is a dental restoration used to replace missing teeth by joining permanently to adjacent teeth or dental implants.

A dental bridge makes use of the teeth that are located on either side of the missing one. These teeth are then prepared and will act as anchor teeth to support the dental bridge. This restoration comprises of a dental crown on either side of which are two more crowns. The two crowns on either side are attached to the anchor teeth to hold the bridge in place, while the crown between them acts as a replacement for the tooth that is missing. In order to give an appearance that looks natural, bridges are normally made using porcelain. While other options such as dental implants can also be used to replace a missing tooth, a dental bridge can do the same at lower cost.
